rice burner.. what exactly does that mean?

What exactly classifies a car to be a "rice burner" and how did it come to that name?

basically something domestic car owners started calling japanese import cars...meaning they burn rice to move

It doesnt have to be a "riced out" car, it can just be a bone stock one too...

Yeah... I got this white friend (i'm asian) who drives an import. His dad is hardcore domestics. Got a couple of vettes being rebuilt in his garage.

His dad bought him his car, acknowledges its a great car, and says "those rice burners are very reliable, you can beat the sh!t out of em and they'll still run."

It's not that he's putting them down (although that's what i felt like he was doing) but that's just what they call imports.

It's what happens when you leave rice too long in the cooker

Yeah the term definitely isn't restricted only to "domestic d*heads" to use.....I call mine a rice burner too. They drive gas guzzlers, I drive a rice burner.

I resent that! I have only called someone a rice burner once. It was a CRX with a parkbench wing, 5 APC stickers, and a bodykit made out of painted cardboard and aluminum foil. Very sad.

but only in the states...

japanese "imports" become domestics over in japan and american "domestics" become imports...

but that's common sense...

I knew i was gonna get shit for that, I didnt mean that eveyone who drives a domestic is a dickhead, just the dickheads that drive domestics. I have plenty of friends who drive domestics and they have really nice cars. But they dont rag on other cars just cause they think theirs is better. And you can call a car a rice burner and not mean it in a bad way. Its kinda like you can beat up on your little brother, but noone else can. follow?

I kinda get offended by the term because it's almost racist or something, even when used casually....I dunno, I think I might just be retarded. Okay, I am.

Depends on how the term is used too....

okay, i'm done.
