They are the badass of badass. The guy who invented the McLearn F1 drives one, he says it's awesome. I love the look of them, it's like elegant, yet sporty and fast. Out of all the super cars, this is the one i'd buy first (except the F1, if i could find or afford one.).

lol understood.. but why? It looks nice.. but nothing spectacular. Handling and acceleration are good.. but nothing most cars can compare to. Just seems like $100,000 for not a lot?

Yeah they are sweet but for that price (if I going to buy a car with it) I'd go for something a little more exotic like a Diablo or a Ferrari.

they are nice, but if i was to buy a semi-exotic, i would look into a z06. the nsx is a combination of almost aeverytyhing you want. it isnt the best in its class in any specific catagory, but its so damn good in everything it makes it a very well rounded car, and very driver friendly(so im told)

^ Just because the numbers aren't big doesn't mean the car doesn't handle well. I personally would take the NSX over a Ferrari/Lamborghini/Mercedes in the same price range.

Header, exhaust, intake, s/c, adds about 12K to the price, but takes the HP up to about 360+.

The thing abuot this car is it has enough power to whip yuo aruond the track. Remember its not a straight line car, its a track car and for what it is its a fair bit of car. It's pricy but I'd buy one if I had the coin.

It should get a shot of HP in the next year or two consideirng whats happening with the RL.

It does .91g on the skid. Damn good, but not worth the $ imo.

OMG a Z06?

Have you ever driven a vette... Personally I think they suck. Cheap ass piece of shit, too much power, no tracktions, looks like crap (IMO), LOUD a$$ fuel pump, no elegance factor, everyone has one.

As for the Z06 vs an NSX. Prefferable the NSX would be the Type-R to make it fair. In a straigt the Z06 would win, but for everything else I'd expect the NSX to win, especially in style, comfort, handling.

Although looking at Z06 stats, skidpad numbers, .97-.99g.

I can't find NSX-R Specs for skidpad though.

Video = YEAH! (not a great vid though) http://www.nsxprime.com/FAQ/General/modelinfo/nsxr.mov

Good site for NSX-R info: http://www.nsxprime.com/ubb/Forum1/HTML/004885.html

I posted them above.. .91G And the numbers for the Z06 seem high. But actually the standard corvette beats the NSX in 0-60 , skidpad. While it ties the NSX in the 1/4, and loses to the NSX in braking.

have you driven a vette? let alone a z06... they haul ass, and the new ones with traction conrtol handle amazing. im not talking about a nsx-r because that bring the price up even more, hell a 911 turbo is in that price range. im talking about best bang for the buck. dont use looks as an argument, its subjective. the nsx might handle better on a track, but im never going to drive one on a road course, im going to drive it around town, and on some back twisty roads. but for the price i can afford to have a z06 and a 3-serise so i dont have to drive the hell out of my sports car every day. i really like nsx's and if they were cheaper it would be a different story, but until they price their cars more competative, its hard to justify 90-100k when you can get the same, if not better for 50k.

Yes I have driven a Vette. It did have tracktion control, and it was all over the place. Way too much power, the steering feedback was shit, think it understeered, i could whip the tail end out in a second.

I wasn't talking about power or bang for the buck. I was talking about an elegant, sexy, fast, and extremely well handled car. The Vette isn't on the same page as the NSX, at least not in my book. I see a Vette on my bike and laugh, I see an NSX and i go "ooooh". As for the 911's, OMG plz. I hate those cars, there is only one good 911 in my book, think it's the GT2, ?? That's the 911 I'd drive, but would still rather have the NSX. You might have not been speaking of the -R but if you were going to drop that much money why not get the -R? I've smoked several porsche's on the bike, have even taken one all the way up to 130.

not to keep busting your balls... but have you driven a nsx also? cause any car with tons of power is going to be all over the place if you try. i dont know... the vette i drove (2002) was absolutly a blast to drive, and i had no problem keeping control of it when i wanted to. 911s are one of my favorate cars so im going to be biases in arguing, so i wont.

^ The car was well handled to an extent, but it was huge, it was a beast, the fuel pump was whining like mad.

I haven't driven a NSX but I'd love to, I agree that it has a good amount of power but i'd bet that the power is well distributed because of the cars center of balance and it's designed with that in mind. That's the thing about the NSX, it's not just a beast, it's a well tuned machine. It's not some car manufacture trying to shove 400+ HP into a chasis of some sort.

As for the 911's, not a big fan. The GT2, I love that car, but that's a 200k porsche, probably the only porsche i'd ever buy. (Insert dream here)

http://home.planet.nl/~monstrous/c5specs.html

C5 Static weight distribution 51.5/48.5 percent

http://www.new-cars.com/2004/acura/acura-nsx-specs.html

NSX Weight Distribution (% front / rear) 40 / 60

thats the C5(the 97-03 vette) vs. the new NSX (not the 91-03)

*edit* found the z06

http://www.maximum-cars.com/Cars/Car.php?carnumber=383

its 53/47

It's like trying to converse with a brick wall....

Yes, the Vette that has more power and cost less, it must obviously be a better car because of the reasons stated.

I'd still take the NSX over the Vette, and I'd take it over any car up to that price range. After that I might need to re-evaluate my statement.

When you look at the #'s, the standard corvette is neck and neck with the NSX. If you go to the Z06, then it outperforms the NSX in every area.

Shit, you can get a viper for less money. GTSR will do an 11 second 1/4 as well as 1.02g on the skid.

To me the NSX is nice for like $40,000. But I will not pay more for a HONDA that kinda looks like a streched out MR2

yeah thats the best way, because it all comes down to what car you find more enjoyable to drive. even though we're talking about cars that i dont plan on being able to afford for at least 5 more years

Are people forgetting that the NSX is built by hand?

That alone plays a big factor on the price...

for that price I'd more likely get a porsche, I'm definatly not a big fan of corvette's (well actually I like the way the 05 is gonna be lookin) but if I had to choose between the nsx and vette I'd go with the NSX simply because it should be more reliable.
