Headlight question

I wasnt sure where this belongs so if its in the wrong spot im sorry. But anyway, I dont know much about headlights ect. and im curious what people have done to make their lights extremely bright and/or a blueish color? Is that those hid bulbs? If so are they illegal or expensive and if not what is it people usually use for brighter lights? Thanks. (besides fogs)

well how bright are you looking to go?

as far as i know, the color of the lights is directly related to the color temperature (ie: 7500K)

although some bulbs are tinted and are "simulated" hid, i'm pretty sure you can still get a real HID conversion kit (although they may be illegal)

But try picking up a set of bulbs and see how you like em.

Hid is more purple then blue. It also changes color, depending on the angle that its viewed at.

Aftermarket hid is illegal. All kits have been pulled from the shelves. OE manufacturers are being told to discontinue hid by 2010 (apparently). Im not sure on the rules on retro-fitting current oe spec hids onto our cars... Lots of people do that. There is a huge thread on honda-tech all about it and hid in general.

Do not get something with super high wattage. Though it will be VERY bright, it will burn up your wiring (Ive seen it happen). Stick with oe specs.

You can get Sylvania Silverstars, which are great bulbs, for a decent price. Its a nice white light. Blue absolutely sucks when its wet outside. You NEED something with a color tint to it (Yellow is best)

If you want really pretty purple lights...get hid..other then that...go to your local import shop and maybe get a set of katz.
Or PIAA's.
