2 Domestic Highway Kills

Over the weekend I got two highway kills. The first was on my way up to Tallahassee. A black Camaro with straight pipes cut me off. I swung over into the right lane and matched his speed. It was very dark so I couldn't tell if it was a Z28 or not but I heard him downshift so I hit it and pulled 4,5,6 car lengths and kept on going. Obviously a V6 camaro.

On the way home I was going through Jacksonville and came across a red Mustang GT 93-98 model. It came up on me matched my speed and then took off. It was really loud and had some performance stickers on the window so I figured it was modified. He waited for me to catch up, we both matched at 70 and dropped into 3rd. We were even in 3rd and then I pulled out a car length in 4th and then had to slow for traffic. The mustang owner seemed cool and rolled down his window to give me a thumbs up.

Cliff Notes: Prelude(aka highway assassin) Smoked a V6 Camaro with straight pipes, and edged out a Modified Mustang.

Nice kills but 93-98 mustang?? Ford came out with like 4 different body styles in that time frame. The 93 is the older one that I like the most. 94 was the last year for the 5.0 (tail lights run in rows)
95-96 4.6L =/ blah and tail lights look stupid. hehe just wondering. stang is a stang good job..

93 was a typo I meant to put 94-98. But to be exact there were no changes in body in those years. 94 was the last year of the 5.0 motor. 95 the first for the 4.6 with 215 hp. Then in 98 the hp was upped to 225. The body style remained the same only minor cosmetic changes such as tailights occured. The Mustang I raced was most likely a 94. It had on a GT on the side and not GT 4.6.

I bought the 69 in 86 and restored it.It was a 21000 mile 1/4 queen with NO rust and no drivetrain.I had to wait a few year's to get the right carb, intake, etc. I could never part with it.Last year I redetailed the engine compartment and freshened up a new 355 with ported head's and total stock appearance.I think it will run a high 12 now.

The last time I went to a track, on my last race I went up against a V6 Crustang and he even launched long before I did because I wasn't paying attention to the tree, and so when it went green he went and only after I heard his tires screeching did I look up.
Anyway by the time I launched, he was a good car length to car and a half lenght ahead of me but I beat him by about 1/2 car lenght in the end, and he might have been cool and given me props but I turned down the wrong exit at the end of the 1/4 mile and almost got my car wedged between the curb and concrete partitions.
Wow, so yeah, instead he was laughing at me but even then I couldn't wipe the grin off my face because I had just beaten a big bad Mustang, even though it's a V6.

Good kills. My two least favorite kinds of enthusiasts are stuck-up ones, and dumba$$ 6cyl drivers.

In a 79? Gotta go 455SD, dude. Can you even get those anymore?
