Headlight Bulb Swap - Do I need to remove bumper? (98 Civic EX)

Hey, I'm putting those HID simulation bulbs. My friend has a 2000 and she said she had to remove the bumper. Is this true on my year? And if so, how do I remove the bumper? Thanks!

no u don't need to remove the bumper. C

just pull off the rubber grommet, disconnect wiring harness and snap of retaining clip. For the drivers side headlight pull up on the grey cylinder thing and push it outta the way, to give yourself room. I think it's your a/c thingy

The grey cylinder thingy is for the power steering.

Here's a pic of my '00 HX headlight. Yours should be V similar. I drew an arrow to the spot where you access the bulb.

It makes it MUCH easier to get to, if you slide the PS reservoir out of the holder [pictured] and the coolant overflow tank out of its holder [other side of car]...

Anyway, no need to remove the bumper - period.
