More turbos to come

I was at the junkyard today and getting ready to pull out a KKK turbo from an Audi but I ran out of time. On my way out, I saw another turbo from a Peugot. I'll come back and pull out both of them. The Audi KKK turbo is very similar to a T3. The Peugot, I'm not sure of since it was getting dark. I'll asses both turbos and probably customize it for another Honda. If not, I'll sell it....

Now, can we please get some traffic here!!!!!!

Hey Thermal the Audi turbo is a t3. The only thing you may want to watch for is that some european cars use a weird t3 flange that is recessed in the center. The bolt holes are intentical to a t3 though. Those turbos are also very small, instant spool though. Im talking full boost by 2K rpms.

Fuk man..... After all the hard work of unbolting the turbo (95% complete), I came back the next afternoon to pull it out, somebody beat me to it!!! . I was so pissed!!! I spent hours trying to pull the biatch out. The Peugot turbo is also a T3. I didnt even try pulling it out since it was in a bad angle. There were way too much interference to get to it. I found another turbo on a 300ZX but again, it's starting to get dark. What a waste of day. I should've just worked on my DSM/VAFC hack...........

hmm so what turbo will be good for a jdm h22a ? i need more power than the 200hp 150tq

T3/T04 hybrid on any DOHC. Or you can get the one that Boosted3g uses, the 60-1.

On your JDM H22a, a T3 will be a waste. It'll be too small. I think those T3's have a 40 trim. Get you a T3T4 set-up and you'll be whoopin ass. I normally sell used turbos for $150, unless it's a T3T4 then I will bump the price some. All turbos that I sell comes with a 6x3 feet sheet of thermal insulation for the exhaust manifold and downpipe...... Thanks for showing your interest

I highly recommend NOT using that tape shit.

while it may appear to keep temps down in the bay, the drop is minimal at best.
More importantly, the hot air getting released through the pipes is a GOOD thing. hot air is not good for the motor. hello detonation.
why would you want to insulate it and keep it in?

IF it was such a good thing, wouldn't all the top racers use it?




maybe I'm blind, but I don't see it on this 750 horse prelude.

It's NOT a tape. It's a thermal wrap. It is related to thermal dynamics. As air and fuel mixture burns, it expands which is called thermo expansion. The key is, if you keep the expanding gas inside the outlet/exhaust pipe, the turbine (with a relative effect) reaction will be more efficient as the streaming "hot gas" expands through it without a temperature drop. The higher the temperature, the more it will move in a contained area, thus moving the turbine faster. That's the theory behind it. As far as efficiency per application, that is proportional to many factors in a set-up. Detonation is more of a pre-mixture of air/spark/fuel issue.......

Now why do top dragster do not use it? Maybe it's not needed with their set-up due to the CFM versus temperature application. Their turbos maybe spooling quick enough per flow rate of the exhaust rather than going through a complicated thermal tuning.....
