Greddy, RevHard, Drag Gen III

What do you recommend. If I do decide to turbo, it will be low boost, 6-8psi until motor is built up. It is a D16.

If you are not goin to go wild with boost then the Greddy kit will serve well. Greddy has mastered the SOHC engine while the others have concentrated their efforts elsewhere. Also the Greddy kit can also support over 200 whp. If you plan on a drag car then the DRAG or the Revhard kit will definantly do the job. I pull near 400 whp with a nearly stock DRAG III kit just to give you an idea of what it can produce.

Yeah i have the greddy kit and i love it. When you first install it you'll be amazed at how your car pulls. And the cost of the Greddy kit is very cheap compared to the other kits. The install is pretty simple too and everything fits nicely. But know that the turbo that comes in the kit Td04 is very small. You wont have any Turbo lag and will spool fast but it does lack power at the top end. And know that the turbo is only capable of boostin 15psi.

Thanks for the info. When I do turbo, Greddy it is. I'm not in the all out drag, yet. But my sohc is in dire need of some power. Thanks again.

Sounds llike a good choice. The Greddy will give you enough to run with some big dogs...and you might surprise a few others.

MrClowny-where's the best place to get the kit from. I need a real good price on it and I want a reliable seller.

If you really want to save money.....

GO CUSTOM!!!

You really have to do your research first though. I put my whole kit together for $900.00 US!! That includes the following...

Custom manifold, downpipe, I/C piping 200
Turbo w/wastegate 150
BOV 50
Intercooler 70
Vortech FMU 80
RC 310 Injectors 150
Holley pump 120
Missing Link 70

Everything was purchased on Ebay, junkyards and from friends. I have a 2 friends who made my header and downpipe for me. Word of advice....If you go custom, make sure the manifold is well built. Mine cracks every 2 weeks or so and it's really starting to piss me off.

But the money saved allowed me to get a clutch, pulleys and a few other godies.

Good luck with whatever you chose to do!

I run about 18 psi and run consistant 12.0s at 117-118mph. Its not bad but the car is really heavy and im having a lot of traction problems. I should put the engine in a hatch.
