Si??? or LS???

In addition to my 2001 civic ex, I have a 1990 civic with a B18A1 in it. It is an old engine with blow by, but still runs well. I actually ran a 15.28@89 about a month ago. I want to do a swap, but don't know what I should do. I know many people will say drop in a H22 or a GSR, but I'm on a budget, so I was thinking either B18b or B16A. What should I do? Should I stay with the torquey B18, or go with the higher horsepower B16?

this is one tuffy questions....personally, either one would do me justice... both respond well to forced induction, the b18 is torquey-er and the b16 has a bit more aftermarket support...

I was thinking I'd throw in a B18b with clutch/flywheel, header, intake. I just want mid to consistant high 14s.

I say rebuild the engine you have so its not so beat down. Then turbo it.

Are you talking about for the old civic or the new one?

old civic. I would just build the one I have, but I need a tranny too, so i figured I'd just buy a swap. Would it be cheaper to rebuild the one I have and rebuild the tranny???

CR-V motor is a good idea...

well how much is a swap? like 1500-2000 or so? and you'd possibly get another beat down engine/tranny thats about to go bad. i say get a newer used tranny thats got low miles(should be pretty cheap) and use the rest of the money to get new aftermarket rods/pistons(new rings), bearings, headgasket and have a pretty much better than new engine that can be boosted a moderate amount with out worry.
