The characters;
Shea, Caroline, JD

Caroline and Shea are friends, but only because Shea is too nice of a person to not be friends with Caroline.

Caroline basically is a bitch. I dated her for a month (oops), then brokeup with her and she has turned into a slut among my group of friends and is basically turning herself into a joke amongst us.

During the first two weeks of dating Caroline, I hooked up JD and Shea. JD is one of my best friends. She is starting not to like him as much, citing one reason as that he isn't that good in the bedroom...

She really likes me, and I really like her... and herein lies the dilemna. Does anyone think it is possible for her to start dating me without JD getting mad and Caroline getting mad? (although we don't really care if Caroline gets mad)

How would I go about this? Shea and I have talked and she is going to break everything off with JD (never technically dating, just a regular hookup type thing), and sometime in January go public about her and myself... In the meantime, I'll have to have a man-to-man with JD about it to ask essentially for permission, because I'm not gonna let a girl ruin a friendship... any thoughts?

i would never consider dating a girl my best friend has even had interest in.

come on man, you don't touch what your best friend has, like stefan said thats the #1 rule

even if he says he cool with it..I'd avoid that at all costs

Yea...that's a danger area right there...I wouldn't do it...but if you're truly sure about this...just be prepared to lose friends and be prepared to be talked about and ridiculed upon.

Good luck though, if ANYTHING, I would say wait awhile until the break up is finished and JD is possibly interested in someone else, at least that way if you and Shea hook up, JD has someone there and most likely won't mind..as much.

Yea if you two are tight I wouldn't try that, it's happened with me before.. Maybe give a month or two for them having not "seen" each other and it might not be as bad

i have to agree with shards. but if my best friend hooked up with my ex. i would say best of luck. for one reason, if i dumped her there has to be a damn good reason.
