urgent: which cable ??

hello all!

I need to know what type of cable do cable companies use?
Is it RG6 or RG59?

And is it the same for all applications (cable modem, tv, digital tv)..

I need to know, cause I have to run the wiring in the new house my parents are having built.

Thanks a lot,
JP
