Found a street bike opportunity!

My buddy works with a guy that is selling a 1993 or 1994 (i'm not sure) Suzuki GSX750 for $3500 cdn. It's got about 12000kms on it and its not bad looking. I could PROBABLY get it for like $3200. If i sold my sled i could probably get right around that much money. What do you guys think i should do?

yea, my friend's mom works at our local trauma center (in southern cali).. I told her my ambitions about getting a bike, and she says most of the cases she gets (about 70%) are bike related.

so.. what does that mean to me? I'm going to hold off until my mid-life crisis

id say go for it... every weekend hundreds of thousands of ppl ride bikes.. its not like everybody who rides gets sqashed by something.. if you ride dangerous then you run a higher risk... so with that in mind, if you are a safe rider.. (ie. dont do stuped stuff..) go for it.. but you have to think, are you going to be able to ride it in the winter??? is this going to be your only way of getting around..? just somethings you need to consider... and dont let ppl fill your mind with crap.. yes bikes can be dangerous but YOU control it, and you know the risk you are running.. if you ride safe than there is no problem.... so if everything works out....GO FOR IT!!!

even if you are a cautious driver, I honestly dont see all the bikes that fly past me when i'm coming to a light.. I could just have easily changed lanes and .. well you know.

ya, i understand that they are VERY dangerous, that is my biggest concern. And insurance etc, i would keep my car and have the bike also. But i'm goign to school so i highly doubt i'd get it. I'd alos have to sell my sled first and right now isn't really high season to buy a sled...

A GSX750 might be a little to much of a bike for your first bike. The gearing on the bike is meant for racing. You're prone to maybe pop a wheelie or possibley lose it if you're trying to take off too quick. I'd like that biek though. Ship it to cali and I'll send my bike up there.
