D15 vs D16 Bottom End Differences

OK all, I have a d15b2 which In plan to modify. I've bought a si trans, mpfi swap, port and polished d16 head, stage 2 cam, adj cam gear, block guard, and a t25 turbo setup. The only weak link I see is the bottom end. It has a good 110K on it, and I've beat it pretty hard the last few thousand

I'll try and number the ?'s to make it easier to answer the ?'s you know.

1)Can anyone tell me some of the differences with d16a6 block compared to my d15b2? 2)Does it have a different crankshaft? 3)Different Pistons? 4)Do the pistons from the zc or d16a6 fit in the d15b2 block? 5)Is the wall thickness the same?

What I really want to know is can I just drop integra ls rods and si or zc pistons into my d15 and be fine with hp and boost I'll be making (8psi or so).

Otherwise, I'm going to have to look for a d16 block also.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

-John

the difference in blocks is that the d16 is a stroked out d15, so basically just the crank/rod legnth, the rods of the d16a6 should also be stronger then the d15's. all pistons in d series engines will interchange, but the compression ratio will change.

this may help: http://nicotine.golden.net/D-Series/dseries.xls

wall thickness should be exactly the same.

So, he could just use a D16 crank, rodds, and pistons when rebuilding his motor??

BTW aquarius - props on using ur brain and NOT getting a huge turbo that would be impractical for street use. Good luck

Turbo lag is mad ghey - there is no reason to build a setup that will not see full boost untill 4800 rpms.
