Hondamatic

My sister has an "87 accord with a "Hondamatic" automatic transmission. It is missing second and fourth.
I am having a hard time locating an online manual for this transmission, does anyone know of any out there?
Any help you can give me is very much appreciated.
Thanks.

found that. you're right, there isn't much. hondamatic seems to turn up a lot of results for motorcycles, but for an old school accord, that takes some digging. good luck.

It's slipping second and fourth because the clutch packs are worn. I guess it's common problem with this transmission.
My mother's windstar had a similar problem and Transgo made a shift kit that fixed it. I wonder if they make something similar for this one.

well, aside from the link i gave, you might try searching for a helms, haynes, or chiltons manual. Should help you out. Check your libraries, as they tend to have a decent selection of older repair manuals.

Yea, we already looked there. They didn't have anything for this car. My sister can't really afford to buy the manual if she doesn't have to, so we were looking for something online. But I guess you can't be cheap all the time, eh?

your sister can't afford $10 for a repair manual? Why don't you just buy it for her and help her out.

Ten bucks? The ones we found were like fifty sixty bucks! We need something with flow charts and stuff.
Anyways, I've been out of a job for like five months, so she'd be more apt to be able to afford it than I would.
