True or false

Today I went down to dealer to pick up a couple qts of ATF for the wife 96 Civic. I was talking to the parts clerk and they mentioned that Honda power steering fluid is most important OEM fluid to use becasue any other P/S fluid will destroy the rack. I've yet to have a need to change her p/s fluid but you never know. So is this true when dealing with p/s fluid?

Also, can I use a good quality after-market 02 sensor (bosch, etc) if any is available or should I stick with a OEM sensor?

Also, are there any Honda dealers on-line that gives discounts to forum members?

YEah I had heard of sticking w/ the OEM Fluids fr that stuff...better to be safe then sorry.

I would personally say stay w/ OEM O2 or get one off a junkyard car as some peopel have had problems w/ the bosch working properly bt that could've been due to a bad installer...

as for online dealers to give youa disc for being on the forums I'm not aware of any...

Thanks

Thanks for the replies, I'll "try" to stick with the OEM 02 sensor but for $198 it makes it kinda hard. I've check different auto parts store and the prices are ranging from $77.99 to $129.99 some being Beck Arney and others being Bosch. Also some are primary (which is the one I'm looking for) specific and others are universal which requires cutting and splicing.

PS: For the guy who used after-market p/s fluid and is currently having problems it's "probably" too late and a fluid flush "probably" wouldn't solve your issues. Then again you never know.

YES this is true i work for Frank Kent Honda
it has special additives so that it would keep the seals in the rack in good condition other fluids will tear up them pretty bad may not notice it at first but it does

It's not true....been working on Honda's for a long time, and I've never had a problem. Other auto places, like Honda mechanics, have told me the same, that it's a crock.
