Waste Gate

How much does this help out a Turbo setup? Is it worth the money?

wheather it be internal or external, it is needed in a turbo setup. Unless your boosting like 200 lbs or something. hahah j/k

If you have no wastegate you will have no way of contolling boost. Therefore it is a must in a turbo system.

well unless you got a internal wastegate you really dont have to worry about buying a new one, the thing about turbo kits is when you buy them they tend to have a deltagate wastgate which i beleive can have boost creeps or boost spikes becuz of the shady quality. The best wastegate for the cash is the TAIL wastegate, as for the deltagate i heard is fine if you got a boostcontroller but other than that the spring and poppet in it tend to be very crappy, but hey what do you think for like 100 or so bux! hehe anyways honda si the greddy wastegate is a very good wastegate the only time you need to upgrade that wastegate is when you prolly go up to a bigger turbo cuz that lil greddy ones tops it off at 14psi at 8400rpms on a EX so its about wound out by then. Or unless you wanna say hey guys i got a tail or HKS wastegate and you dont!!! hhehe

Hold up a sec here. Let me clear up a few things. The deltagate is not a type of wastegate its simply what Turbonetics calls their own wastegate and it is hardly a product shady quaility. As far as the Tial being better because of the poppet style deltagate, well the Tial is a poppet style also and both are well over 200 bills. Also actually the wastegate that is included on the Greddy kits is by far the worst type of wastegate you can get. Internal wastegates rob power and are only good for emmisions and are somewhat of a bottle neck if the boost is turned up. Also you cannot seriously upgrade a turbo and keep the same internal wastegate. No trying to offend just keeping the facts straight.

if there is no waste gate flange on the exhaust manifold you will most likely have to buy a new exhaust manifold i know that one for a fact! if the internal wastegate was like the one on my moms old volvo all you have to do is move the nut on the actuator arm thing hehe

I wouldn;t say well over, you can get a Tial 35mm 4.35 psi for $250. They can handle up to 18psi. That is about all anyone with a street Honda would ever need.

Sup dawg, but yo i don't think you can get an external wastegate when you already have an internal one. But if your gonna get a new manifold and wastegate you might as well as get a bigger turbo. I don't know if its possible to get an external wastegate when you already have an internal one. But yeah i think the external wastegate looks pretty buff sittin on top of you manifold.
