d16a6 tranny in a d18y8

I have a d16a6 engine and tranny from a 90' crx si and I want to know if it will fit on a d16y8 engine. Also if anyone whats to buy the d16a6 its for sale????

and whats the diffrence between a d16a6 manual tranny and a d16y8????

i believe the '90 crx had a cable actuated clutch while 92 and later civics have a hydraulic. theres a conversion kit out there but thats just too much work/money for a tranny thats 14years old, imo. just go to the www.thepartstrader.com and look for a y8 tranny(thats where I got a "98EX tranny for $150) if you need a new one. Do you EVEN need a new one?

you can also put a free ad on that site to sell your a6 engine/tranny.

i see you have the MSD sci ignition, where did you mount it? notice any improvement in idle or anything?

yea, me my brother and my friend all got sci's they smooth out the idles pretty good, not a big power mod, but nice to have

I mounted the box right in front of the coolent resevoir, I made a custom bracket out of aluminum, i mounted my brothers (civic also) right in the middle of the firewall on top

my nitrous kit was in the way
