1pc vs 2pc header

I've been looking at headers and seen 1 & 2 piece versions for sale and I was wondering what advantages/disadvantages they have out side the obvious.

2pc is said to have a little more air disturbance since the parts bolt together...probably isnt that big of a deal
(ive always used 1pc, besides oem)

yeah i think 1pc are supposed to be lighter because they don't contain the flanges right?

I think I had heard the 1 piece was lighter but didn't hear how much and I figured the 2 piece would be easier to install/remove since you can seperate it but you could blow out the gasket that the 1 piece wouldn't have

After time the two piece headers tend to crack at the flanges. Its a stress point. If u can get a 1 piece, then that would be the way to go, not to mention it is lighter as everyone points out.

what gets me though is how a civic (ex anyway) has a 2pc stock. A friend of mine took a look and he though it was aftermarket because it looks like its designed so good.

factory honda parts are very well designed. It is very hard to make serious power over stock parts.

right now other then intake my engine/exhaust is stock. Im really thinking of either going with a mildly built d16 or b18 and eventually go with n2o or maybe turbo but its going to be awhile since its looking better and better that Im going to be moving out of state and will need to find out the emission rules of that state

a 4-2-1 will give you more power at a lower RPM range starting at something like 3.5k rpm
while a 4-1 will give more top end power starting somewhere in the 5k rpm range
and I'm pretty sure thats accurate, seen it in too many places to be a "wives tale"

it's said that the 4-2-1 is better for the daily driver while the 4-1 is best if you want to push out the most power on the drag strip
just something to think about for ya

that and 4-1's the ground clearance suffers. I should know I bashed my 4-1 DC sports flat on my D16Z after a year. Damn shitty roads.
