What are you Accord owners running the 1320 in?

Hey guys, I don't run my car yet (I don't have enough mods to make it worth while), but I'm curious as to what you all run. Post your times here.

LOL, ok sorry.

We've evolved.. We know function in meters. Like the rest of the world!!

15.5, me driving of course! With stereo, 17's & accessories.

I'm thinking of getting a small turbo.. We'll have to see about that. I'll have to discuss some stuff with thermal'f16 & then we'll see.

What engine mods to you have to run 15.5???

Exclamation

Not much really.

Short ram air intake (with heat shield), with extra piping for better feed.

- Irridium plugs
- Better wires
- Advanced timing (not very much though, caus I could still use 87 octane with no knocking.)
- OEM exhaust manif with slight grind and polish (this one gave me some beef, as in low end)
- high flow cat (the rest of exhaust is oem)
- Some chip.. Power Chip, I think? (piggy back... was around 900 $ CAD)
OEM clutch, I'm thinking of changing for an N2 though. It has happened a couple of times that my clutch didnt have the necessary compression to grip.
Didnt shave the head or anything crazy like that.

Thats all I remember for now.. If I remember anything else I'll post it.

Some stuff I listed I dont reall know much about (*chip*), so if you have any question I'll gladly address them to my good friend who is a mecanical engineer/car mecanic/import tuner. He's the dude with the badass civic that handles like it was on rails.

How much do you run? Mid 15's?

Oh and I wasnt timed on a track, but with a mini computer like thing, that hooks up to rpm & some other stuff.. The error margin was I think around 0.05 I think?? Slight chirping on 1st but not on other gears while doing times..

I dont really like to drive hard, caus I'm all sad after that I was rough with my baby.. But, from time to time the beast within emerges..

I don't know what I run, but that's a great time with those mods. You must be a pretty good driver

I'm getting a new clutch too pretty soon. I'm going to let my younger brother learn how to drive a stick with the OEM clutch and then I'm probably going to get an ACT. I've heard great things about them, and I don't want anything to rough.

So how do you like those plugs. I have Bosch plat +4 right now, and I don't really like them, so I'm looking at new ones. I've heard good and bad about iridium. What brand are they... Denso?

Yup Denso.. I think its pretty much the best for Honda..

Plat +4, is really not good for our cars. They are more intended for germans. It has to do with the shape/curve of the piston head or cylinder something.. The thing is that the plats +4 is made for a flat type surface, while our hondas have a rounder surface. Or maybe the opposite. Sorry I'm all confused these days.

I try very hard to keep my car perfectly maintained.

I guess I drive pretty well to..

All those years of playing the piano (using the pedals ) finally payed off!

Do you know a good place to buy some Densos online? Or did you buy them locally?

OK, thanks anyway. I'll check around, but I've heard they run almost $60 USD. That's a little steep, but they should last for a long time.

Did you feel a difference when you installed them?

Cool, BTW, are you running a Canadian EX, or a US EX? I ask because I believe that Canada's EX = US LX, Canada EX-R = US EX or something like that. Could you clear that up for me?

Best time as of yet is a 14.8@96/97mph with a faulty fuel injector and not using the NOS kit.

Hey, just a little warning about the Denso's. I had them, and in less than 3 months the electrodes were gone.

Not Properly installed? I don't know if I should be offended or not.

Anyway, we are not sure why they did it. It was the same on another friend of mines H22A4. Not sure what the deal was. the electrodes were just eaten away. Both of our cars started running like crap. Mine first, and then hers a month later. The plug condition was fine. No oil, not running too rich or lean, they looked good. Except for the electrodes. Maybe they wre a bad batch or something.

I am now running some NGK Platinums.

Wow, that's weird about the plugs. I'm not sure if I want a pair or not now. Also, which model would I buy for an F22? I see a bunch of numbers, but they don't mean anything to me.

Also Accord Man, those are damn FAST times for a non-vtec... keep up the good work! I want to run my car now, just to get an idea

Running at the track and running on Gtech are a little different, a lot of it depends on the track conditions..

I was talking to an import shop about NGK Iridiums, he said they arent worth the money so they wont even carry them, and just to get the Platniums..

LOL, didnt mean to hurt your feelings!

Maybe you didnt torque properly.. Depending on what you had going on your engine. To deep or not enough..

If you'Re worried about the Denso, then just go with the ngk plats. I used to use them before & they performe well, no complaints.

Sorry I have no idea what the model number was.. ::

LOL, you can run your car all day long, you're numbers wont tell you much.:o
As soon as possible I'd like to take out my stereo and all the other *useless* accessories on my car, just to see how much I would run. With the mags..

For teh Vtec thing, its very helpful on a 95% stock car, but with a couple changes to your intake/exhaust & mapping, I dont really think It helps much anymore.

The thing he used to test my car wasnt precisely a Gtech, but something similar.
I did my times on a fairly newly paved road.. That would explain why I didnt burn any rubber (well hardly..).

Last time I checked the NGK Irridium wasnt available for the F22.

They may not be.. I was using it more as an example that Iridium plugs arent all that they make them out to be and probably arent worth the extra money youll spend to get them..

Unless my expensive ass MAC tools torque wrench was off, they were done correctly. Plus, I had no blowby, so they were tight enough, and the electrodes were not bent, so they were not too tight. You could tell they wer just eaten away. They were rounded out from underneath. Like the spark was to hot for the electrode. Who knows.
