Wasn't making an assumption. I was just saying that its not an amazing feat. I'm sure there's plenty of 5.0L stangs that could pull that off. Or even LS1's. Regardless.

A 6 cylinder in general can hold more power than a 4 cylinder. I don't know the utmost limit for the Honda engines and I'm not rich enough to try & find it out.
A Civic (D Series) can hold ~80hp additional without any mods. A Civic (B Series) can hold ~100-125 additonal without mods. I'm not sure what the Prelude can handle. I imagine its similar to the B series.

Then again the cost of a new Maxima($27-29000) vs. a new Civic Si($19000), you should get a faster car. I'm not bashing Maximas at all. I think they look good. I've never had a chance to drive one so I can't say anything about how they feel.

5.0L vs 3.0L quite a bit difference huh?

so in your theory.. an 8 cyl can hold more power than a 6 cyl so just as its not fair to compare a Maxima vs a Civic, its not fair to compare a LS1 with a Maxima.

that faster car comment is not neccesary.. i am not even going to start comparing civic's and maxima's .. because thats a waste of my time

thats your opinion. The 2.6L engine in the Skyline can hold more power than the maxima. Same goes for the 2.0L Motor in the Sentra SE-R.

The 3.0L stock engine in the Supra also holds more power than a stock 5.0L engine in a stang

That maxima you are ragging on cost $8,000 now. It cost way less than what your 2000 Civic SI cost at this point.

Maxima's are not made for speed. They are 4 door luxury Cars. In any case. A 2003 6spd Maxima runs low 14's stock and the 2003 Civic SI runs mid 15's stock. If you wanted to quote numbers

the slower a car is the more time it drops per mods....

if you put a k+n filter on let say a 1988 cherokee it would RESPOND better considering its a 17 second vehicle then lets say a s2000 as far gain in times...

yes we are saying ONLY 11.9

look at the mod list doesnt matter about only 15psi and 35 shot... the amount spent could get just about any car into the freaking 8's

yes we all know it doesn't take much to make a fox body in 8's

I could use my tax return and get a fox body into 8's..

the point is.. the car is on stock internals and stock transmission.

i notice that you are in Connecticut? where are you located?

taking a 2003 max's best time vs. an average civic si's time.... like every other "thread jack" you people always seem to make it out to be that your cars are so superior when you are just taking the opposite ends of the spectrum and colliding


it doesnt matter though.... no matter what times the pull on the track via prep/ pro driver/ full gutted, whatever the case may be they are far from impressive straightline.

i am still doing winter maintenance too.. wens is definately out the question. Would have to be early May or something if you dont' mind. Gives me sometime to install my Boost Controller and the S-AFC dialed in correctly.

no your just ignorant to the fact that a cobra got his ass handed to him... that video is legit, say what you want theres no need to edit it to make it seem like maximas are faster.... Take your run with turbomaxima and video it I wanna see the outcome in the end..

with enough money anything can be made to go fast im not impressed with some fool spending 10 g's to make a semi fast car, thats pathetic.....

theres a suzuki swift 1.3L around here that does 11's on street tires, now THATS impressive

thats just ****ing retarded, and yes i will run him, and itll be a 15 year old motor vs. a newage dohc with turbo.... dead stop @ 25 light with my m/t's on the back.... dont matter if i win or lose, its the fact my whole car is still under 4 grand total and still sports stock cam, and stock heads and no forced induction.... look forward to the outcome myself.

its not that we are bashing on your car or anything its just that were a 4 door family sedan with power to go along with it, some of us might like that luxery feel WITH the motor power to go with it.. While you like a 2 door coupe thats MORE sporty looking with the power to go along as well.. Its just different taste... Anyways that being said heres one more video...

well you get what you pay for..... and sorry to burst your bubble but i want speed and for 3500dollars as of now im happy with 105mph traps in which my motor is actually DETUNED from stock...

and if i wanted 4 door performance i wouldnt look to a maxima at all

id go with a dodge spirit r/t

ever heard of a 4 cylinder 4 door sedan dynoing more tq than hp from boltons? 220whp and 310wtq from simple upgrades. not to mention the 2.2L chrysler turbo motor doesnt need to be introduced
