5th generation Accord rims and tires

I am about to purchase new rims and tires for my 96 Accord. I am going to get 18" rims, most likely Racing Hart z5000. I was wondering if I am going to have any problems with the 7.5" width? I was also wondering what anyone would suggest for tire size. I would like to get 225/40/18 as opposed to 215/35/18 so that the sidewall is bigger because the roads around me suck. However, a few people have told me that tire width of 225 will be problematic. So if anyone has any advice on whether to get 225/40/18 or 215/35/18 it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
