b16a to b17a

Ok, I'm new to H/S and was seeking input on what i'm about to do to a b16a engine. I have a 94 del sol dohc head and a jdm b16a block. I am planning to stroke my engine to 1.7 liters with a crank, piston, and rods that i had got from a b17a engine. Now, i under stand if i use CTR pistons my compression ratio would be 11:1 to 11:4. I also wanted to go CTR on the head also. That will also bump up my compression. What can i do to bring compression ratio down beside using custom head gaskets kits.

different pistons will also lower your CR. why do you want to lower it?

The b17a crank produce more torque the your average b16a. Plus i will get more HP out of the box. Now as far as the CTR stuff. I might hold off on.

ok, but why do u want to lower the compression? your making the car slower than it could be? why not stick with the stock motor and put this potentaly good engine in a car that IS a drag car

Well, I'm going to put the 1.7 liter crank and rods but not use the pistons it came with. Going to use the b16a stock pistons to keep my CR to 10:4 and i should see 140 - 150 hp on the dyno all stock.
