ZMax

Anyone ever try that stuff or know anything about it?
Does it actually work like they say they do, or do anything that's pretty helpful?
Or is it bad for the engine?

I want to add it because it seems like it'll clean the inside which is exactly what I would like to do!

I tend to stay away from infomercial product. They might be ok, but with regular maintenance and good oil/fluids, you'll be just fine.

It's mineral oil with some colouring in it.

The mineral oil thins out the oil in your crankcase, so:

1. You burn less oil, simply because there's less oil in the engine
2. You so go longer between oil changes, b/c there's less oil being used
3. Ever wonder why, after they drain all the oil from the car and go for road laps, they don't tear down the engine afterwards? The zmax crap can run the motor for twenty minutes or so, but not much longer.

See this link about the Federal Trade Commission currently suing ZMax and the distribution company.

You simply cannot fix most complicated problems with a bottle.

i've heard it was good. with mi high mileage engine i use engine restore as an additivefor the oil. i usually see a difference. i used that in my old subaru with 220k miles on it and it definatelly made a difference. i never tried z-max.

juve you wanna clean the carbon deposits ?

Yup. Car has 102k miles on it (roughly) so I just wanted to clean her out.
Also as soon as I get some dough, I'll change the spark plugs, all the filters and fluids!

What kind of plug do you suggest for new ones?
