LoL roger that It was actually a burnt-out o2 sensor on the header. Fixxed now I get Check Engine lights every so often but they usually go away after a few start-ups.

the geekz0r (11:04:16 PM): so 2nd pulls like 1st in the 5speed, 3rd is like 2nd, etc.
PortugeeTex (11:04:26 PM): so whats 1st like then?
the geekz0r (11:04:49 PM): 1st is like hitting a cheeta in the ass with a tazer

Yea, mine is governed to 120mph :\ Kinda gay. Then again, my tires suck and a blow-out at those speeds would be deadly

but technically, isn't a meter that reads up to 160 quicker than one that reads 130?

well.. technically.... no. the distance between numbers is smaller because 160 has more marks.. so a speedo that reads to 70 or 80 will go real fast while accelerating, where as a speedo that goes to 160 it will take longer for the needle to move as far. look at the old fox body 5.0's. they read upto 85mph if i remeber... but that dosnt mean the car is limited to 85 mph, or that 85mph has anything to do with its speed.

so a car can exceed over the max number?

mine reads up to 140, but i think it's "max" is around 120-130...

now, is the factory max limit for stock? if i have a aftermarket header, exhaust, cai, etc...will it exceed the factory limit?

145 - 150

member, you won't ever hit that speed unless you are falling off a cliff. Even then you'd need a boulder strapped to the back of your car.

That's about your top. 4th & 5th won't do much afterwards.

Governor is used to regulate the speed. Kind of a cap on the speed.

Are you sure about that? My car tops out at 100mph in 3rd gear (hits the rev limiter). Even then, the Civic has closer gear ratios. I'm sorry, just sounds strange.

my 3rd can only hit around 90 before it starts slipping and the rev limit kicks in. Maybe you're talking about 4th in 4th i can hit 115 easily.

Mine hits 150 with the extra hash after 140. I've had it to about 120 or so, don't know where the governor is.

I had a 4 cylinder 4 speed Dodge Colt as my first car. That speedo went to 135 or so. Had it buried going downhill for about 30-45 seconds once. That's my own personal land speed record.

my governor kicks in at 120. I was flying down some long open roads near my house and when i hit 120 the rpm's cut back and the engine dropped itself to 110
