I assume you mean eg (in that case there is no silver thing, which again I am assuming you mean grille cover which was available on SOME ek sedans) then you will have some issues w/ the lights, I believe, because the corners on 2 and 4drs are different...and thus probably the fenders as well

I know the corners and fenders are "supposedly" different but thats why Im asking. the reason I asked is I like the 2dr bumper better and I do mean on an EG

There is no "supposedly" about it... they ARE different...
4door fenders and corner lights are longer than 2dr ones... I got 4dr corners by accident... they are too long to fit into my fenders... As far as the bumpers go... they swap... however the bumper does not line up with the fenders properly unless you use part of or the whole 2dr fender... I'm not positive on the swapability of the 2dr and 4dr fenders... I think they swap but you may have to section and join both fenders to get one that will match up on both sides... there IS a thread about this on H-T... it's old but it's there somewhere... I ran across it when I was trying to figure out how to just use the 4dr lenses....

You know what...
I believe it actually said that you had to get the bumper and the styrofoam support... but I"m not sure... it may have also envolved removing the bumper core itself... which isn't a good idea at all... I'll try to see if I can find the thread.

Concensus is to do it "right" you need 2dr fenders (bolt right up) 2dr Corners and the 2dr bumper... That's it. If you're 4dr bumper isn't too F'd up (well even if it is depending on your idea of all F'd up) I might take it... where are you located... PM if you want to get rid of it.

theres nothing wrong with my bumper other then its aftermarket stock (some lady hit me about a month ago) and I keep debating what I want to do ie body kit, lip kit, etc, and I thought it would look neat/different with a 2 dr bumper but I wanted to see what was involved and how "easy" it would be.
just to make sure I'm getting this right I would need: 2dr fenders (are you sure they fit right I saw some debating over it and I don't want to hack and mold the fenders together) 2dr corners 2dr bumper or just get and install a 2dr bumper and deal with it not fitting quite right Last edited by 95DX : 05-15-2004 at 04:22 AM. |

i would do it right in the first time. yes the fenders bolt up perfectly. i have seen this swap done by some guy that goes to the track. it look awesome. at first i thought it was a hatch, then i realized it was a 4dr with a 2dr bumper and fog lamps. i love that look!

actully the only difference between the coupe and sedan rear end is the trunk lid everything else is the same. the hatch bumper though is different (slightly)

I might eventually (never really thought about it before) but I was just trying to point out everything else is the same that I've ever noticed/seen
correction it wouldn't work because the quarter panels are different to match up with the trunk (saw a coupe today and took a look at it) and I don't want to cut/mold my quarter panels Last edited by 95DX : 06-05-2004 at 03:48 PM. |
