Dude, if all you wanna do it run 13's and shutup the DOHC's, just do what I did. Get a GReddy, get the injectors and pump, get a standalone. Run 10-12psi laying down 225+whp and run 13's all day and night... nuff said

he he he...mat ran more than that.........mat is a crazy dude man.....you know, in a good way crazy. tuning is the key. he had some top notch tuners around him at the time. i think 10 psi will be achievable with those mods. if u ever come across a guy under MR. Sleeper, he has a d16 pushing 12 psi.......good luck man and keep us posted with your progress

The D16 is a bomb little motor, dont let all those haters tell you other wise. Good luck with your goal. You should be there easily.

well a lot has changed since I last wrote. Let me see if I can list them all. for the civic ex d16y8 turbo:
Sneeky Pete Nitrous (Just installed last week; no 1/4 mile time yet)
t3/t4 turbo (12 lbs daily/ 20 lbs track)
gude head package (turbo cam)
jg bottom end package
venom intake manifold
RC 500cc injectors
AEM high flow fuel rail
MSD 6btm
ACT clutch
Quaife LSD
arp head studs
jackson racing flywheel
vortech fmu
hollowed out cat
Greddy SP exhaust (my only drawback: need a bigger exhaust)
Apexi VAFC
Apexi Boost controller
Greddy Type R BOV
Steel braided break lines
Steel braided fuel lines
Greddy Intercooler
Tein Super Street Type SS Coil Overs
SI Rims
195/55/15 Kumho Ecsta Supra (That how you spell it?)
Competittion Engineering Traction System
Power Slot Rotors
AEM Brake Pads
Sprint Strut Bars
B&M Short Shifter
Type R Shift knob LOL

I still have my full interior and my stereo. My wife hates my hobby because she says I spend too much time working on the car. Oh well. She pays for half the upgrades. I know I am forgetting a lot of other stuff but when it comes to it I will remember. Last time I took it to the track I pulled a 12.9 (Not dynotuned) I have to find that damn time slip so I can tell you my trap speed, 0-60 and so on. I can't remember how many pounds of boost I set it to. Shit, it has been so long I can't remember. I have not been to the track in almost a year. Oh yes, I did not have most of those items when I ran the track in Palmdale, CA.

soon but it is also my daily driver. I like the quiet exhaust note it has already. That list I stated prior is still incomplete. Meaning, I still did not finish listing all my other mods. I just thought of all the things I could think of at the top of my head.

u wanna run 12 psi daily?.... that's kinda high there buddy, a friend of mine blew his type-r motor running 10lbs daily.... i guess im one of those so-called "haters" why not trash your d16, swap an h22, later on add some boost, and run 11's?... but if you just wanna prove some people wrong, i don't see no harm in going the hard way....

well i never said 12psi.........i am going to b running 8 psi on my stock D16 for now........my main goal is to get the earliest spool up possible and buy whatever components it takes to get that early spool up( i know the greddy spools fast, i want to it spool even faster).............the H22 is nice but lacks an aftermarket craze plus it is heavy........all i have to do later on is build up the block on the D16 at run it up to 14psi and run 13s but that isnt my goal.......i want a street car going back to the point of having a fast spool up.....if i start spooling at 2500rpms then i will smoke some pplo on the street i am sure........( does anyone know any parts to help spool up)

ahhh, 12lbs is ok as long as you tune it right. but then again you are walking on a very thin line. if you have your bottom end built, that thin line gets to be a more broad line to walk on but you can still blow it if improperly tuned.

if you want quicker spoolup times, then u get a ball bearing turbo or you simply open up the diameter of the exhaust manifold piping that connects to the turbo.....greddy uses this ball bearing turbo's, and so does most kits...fmax, top fuel, blitz and so on...greddy is just a little on the expensive end.

how do i "open up the diameter of the exhaust manifold piping that connects to the turbo"?

what about a lightened flywheel?

maybe a 2.5" or 3" exhaust?

turbo cams(SOHC )?

do these help spool up????????????

lightened flywheel will as will a 3 inch exhaust
Turbo "CAM" not cams (Singular not plural) helps if tuned right. Suprisingly they do have a turbo cam out their for the sohc's.
