you could swap on a vtec head off a 92-00 civic EX which should only be a few hundred bucks and at the same time swap to an 92-00 ex tranny. then if thats not enough get a greddy turbo kit and keep the boost at like 5psi.

or just swap an entire d16z6 or d16y8 engine/tranny(which should only cost like $800, then get a turbo kit down the line and be able to boost alot more.

if you swap heads for a y8 be sure to get an intake mani of the same yrs (96-98 or 99-00) they are slightly different

custom turbo. visit your local junkyard. You can come up with you own custom turbo easily. You should have the standard civic headers that can be used as your turbo manifold. Get or fabricate an adapter plate to match up with a T3 or T25 from an eclipse. Route your pipes including your downpipe. Get an eclipse BOV or bosch plasctic BOV. Get an FMU. Boost 5 psi.

It's not a hard project but not easy neither. It will take a lot of research to make it happen. You must also get a compression test to see if it's even worth to subject your engine to Force Induction. If you need more info about turbocharging, hit me up or simply visit our turbo forum.....

get the head off a d16z6 or d16y8 not a 1.8ltr engine. and get whatever fuel injection stuff you need from a honda not an acura.

somethings wrong thats making your car have a loss of power on takeoff, I'd start by checking the ignition timing.

this should answer most of your questions about swapping on a vtec head: http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=554053

I'd swap the tranny at the same time for the best results.

You should be able to find what you're looking for at a local junk yard for the cheapest. I was able to pull the MPFI intake off of a CRX SI, COMPLETE wire harness and ECU for 110 bucks. Can't wait to put that on my car, I have the DPFI also so i know where you're coming from.

I picked up a MSD ing, accel coil, and accel plgs off ebay for like $130 total. Should give some extra boost, can't wait for it to come in.

As for the air intake, at low RPM's 500-2500 the car feels a little bogged out, but then once you hit about 3k you can feel it start to pull. My car is the same way, don't worry about it. You lose torque but gain HP in the higher spectrum or RPM's.

I have the same type of setup as you, if you have any questions PM me.

for parts I'd check www.thepartstrader.com
or just go to the junk yard so you can actually see what you're going to get before you pay for it.
