springs

im thinkin about getting some H&R lowering sport springs (1.5f, 1.2r) or the Eibach Prokit (1.5f,1.5r).. which one do u guys recommend for a 02 accord v6 coupe?.. also do u think i will need a camber.. or should i just get teh springs and get a camber if it cannot be aligned back to stock spex?..

Yeah, get the springs and then see if you need to fix the camber with a kit. New struts would be nice, but you should be able to go awhile on stockers with those springs.

yeah i have been on stock shocks for about 6 months and it's still decent ride but it get friking bumpy.

What kind of struts do u recommend for an 02 accord coupe v6, with either the eibach prokit or h&r that give around a 1.5 drop...?

How much are you willing to spend and what kind of ride to you want. I recommend Koni Sports [yellows], but they arent cheap. I have Prokits and Konis, the ride is great!

i just dont want the ride to be "riding like a boat".. i want to keep it close to stock ride...

Yeah, but like RR asked, how much do you want to spend?

The Koni yellows would be the #1 choice, but they'll run you around $550 I believe.

for the 6th gen accords they are 627 a set shipped in most places online, and kyb doesn't make anuthing for that car yet. it's either konis or tokicos.

hmm well if i was to spend 630 on struts, and then like another 200 on springs.. wouldnt it just be better to get some teins?

but those will run you even more... just depends what you want to spend.

yeah the teins run about 1000 shipped, but if you wanna go springs and shocks i reccomend the koni yellows. i have them on my cb7 with ground control coilovers and the ride is awesome.

Just thought I'd embelish on my previous statement. Tein makes a wide variety of suspensions. I wouldn't even bother with their basic damper since you can't adjust the damping - one of their strong points. If you're going to consider Teins, at least get the SS model. 16-way adjustable, height adjustable, great ride and handling.

alrite.. well lets see.. what do u recommend .. the prokit or the h&r springs.. and im takin it that the koni yellows would be the best to go wit when i change the stocks..

Im going to recommend the Prokits, but I dont have any experience with H&R springs. Send Addict a PM. I know he had H&R springs on his Civic, as well as sportlines [which are lower then prokits.]

I can tell you that the prokits are not as agressive riding as sportier springs like the sportline, but again, I dont know enough about H&R to compare.

I find the ride quality on the Koni and Prokits to be close to stock handling feeling of a BMW with sport suspension. This is a very good thing IMO! They are comfortable enough for long trips, but agressive enough to have fun on twisty roads. Plus is gives you enough ground clearance for most everday obsticles. I can tell you for a fact that the teins SS will be a lot more agressive, because they are more race oriented.

It pays to have a shock that is valved close enough to match with a spring. My skunkworks coilovers had to stiff of a spring rate and rode like crap with my Konis. So I switch back to the Prokits. Some say the new skunk2 coilovers are better now since they have reduced spring rates, I dont know how true that statement is however.:o

i drove a sol once with the koni yellows and skun2's and it felt like the car was falling apart all over the place. my brother has skunk2's on his integra with stock shocks. it feels like the car is on waves. well konis and ground controls are a different story ( now if my front subframes wouldn't be bent)

I'd recommend the H&R OE Sports with KONI Yellows if you want an excellent handling ride. The H&R springs are a little stiffer than the Eibachs, but its not a huge difference. THeir spring rate seems to match up great with the KONI yellows.

Either route you go, I think you will be happy. Another option is Ground Control Coilovers with KONI Yellow struts. GC uses Eibach springs on their kits. Stay clear of most other coilover sleeves though.
