Alright guys i need to know a good place too....
Buy a swap from.
I put this here because im actually having transmission problems and i am kinda hoping someone will help me out and/or give me a place where they have bought a complete swap from or knows of a good site. I orginally posted in the Kill Stories section about me breaking my shifter, i would have posted there, but a certina jack ass got that thread closed. A syncronizer is going out along with other prolems making it so i can't shift into any gear. So I droped by autozone to get some fluid because it was shifting a little hard and i ran it by the guy that was there and he also said it sounds like a syncronizer is going out (like i thought). So he looked up a new transmission from my car, out of curiosity and it was 1499.99. and i figured just to get a swap now rahter than wait till spring. Thats my story, please help! And sorry mods if you need to move this, i kinda need to know right away seeing how my main transportation is no longer working. |

most people will recommend osaka you'll still need linkage and axles though as they dont supply them w/ swaps. also check if they include mounts...they probably dont

osaka
i've talked to them and they seemed great guys, but they didn't get my money yet. i think one of chris's(ChrisCantScate) friends had a swap from them and he was happy about the service. since your car is a manual i don't think you need a new shift linkage, or you can go buy one from a junker

JDM club is the one that's run by Mark from honda society, right? If so, I've heard very good things about them back in the day.

Alright, let me run this by you guys... Im getting the b18c from here. it says at the top what it comes with "We offer a $50 cash referral bonus to you if you refer someone that buys a swap from us. We will match/beat most legitimate prices. All motors are UNDER 60,000 miles (typically 30,000-48,000). All motors come with a start-up warrantee. All swaps are complete with motor, tranny, ecu, mounts, wire loom, axles, and shift linkage unless other wise demanded or specified. We specialize in All JDM parts that you want. All the prices below are the start prices for the swaps. Swaps will vary some for newer motors, less mileage, exchange rate changes, etc. Also, all the prices on engines include FOB - Free On Board - which means shipping to the nearest port in US. All customs, port and freight from port to home/shop and any other fees are the responsibility of customers." Can you guys think of anything else i should get? Im thinking about getting aloan for 5k. 3k goes to the engine, and ill need new exhast and 2 new muffles so i figured 200-300 for that. and i still have a little left over for misc. parts that i may need. Anything else you can think off, just go ahead and spout it off. |
