Lowering your car on stock rims.. is that gay??

I only have money for one or the other, and i'm not sure what will look worse. Rims on an un-lowered civic, or a lowered civic on stock rims (although i think the hubcaps look nice )

I think it looks better to lower first (not slam though) and then get wheels. Nice rims w/o a drop looks pretty bad sometimes...

i'd hafta agree, my civics dropped just enough to get rid of the gaping wheel well but still have stock wheels on there, looks OK.

If you're slamming to the ground I figure it doesn't matter. If you're lowering a little for a sporty racing look I think it'd look silly with stock rims and skinny tires.

I think it depends on how long it will take you to get the money for the other thing. Because if you doing the work yourself it's kinda of nice to get the suspension and wheels put on at once then you only have to jack it up and rip stuff up once. But if it will be a while before you get the money for the other thing i'd say go suspension.

are you planning to put on a kit as well? if so then you will be putting on bigger wheels, lowering, and a kit. what type of suspension? is it adjustable? If you can save money to go bodykit, wheels, then suspension in the matter of a week then I'd go that route so that you can choose what size springs you'd want after seeing the ground clearance and fender gap from the kit and larger wheels. but if you're getting adjustable coilovers, then i'd do those first then everything else.

Slam the *****. Make sure you get a camber kit, the car will look muck better than it does now, (even if your riding on 13's).

I would much rather have a lowered civic on stock wheels. I had the stupid "jacked up" look before i did my springs and i hated it - do the springs first.
