just bought a mesh grille...

but i don't like the mesh that''s in there... it looks like chicken wire... would i be able to go to a hardware store and get more like thin sheet metal with honey-combs in it...?

you can also use a plastic mesh that is used for screen doors
OR
theres this thick aluminum/tin/stuff thats used for helping cement tiles to walls. Its very thick and kinda hard to work with (I tried)...I suggest not using it.

Just be advised; with any metal that you arent sure what it is, exactly, use a clear coat on it so it will not rust. I imagine that the mesh that came on the grill is aluminum and will hold up really well

a buddy of mine got some galvanized steel crap at home depot.. it came out looking ok... It was hard to shape in a sheet but once you cut out the basic design and screw in a couple points the rest yanks into place pretty easily.
