Getting settled

I was asked to come here by Incubus. Since he knows that I know my stuff about Honda's and also since I helped him get started with his Integra in the first place. So I guess I was curious and he said that there were other peeps here who supposedly know some stuff too.
Yes, yes, yes, I know I drive an old Accord. And for the most part I don't race it anymore. It used to be pretty fast and used to have big plans but most of that has now passed and my sights are set on getting a new car work with! Perhaps I should start this off by being controversial. I would like to know, of the the three choices I"m about to present, which ones you would choose as a future project car and why or why not!?

1994-1997 Honda Accord 2 door Coupe

Choice #2
1992-1995 Honda Civic Del Sol

Choice #3
1996-1999 Honda Civic Hatchback

So tell me why or why not! I'm interested to know your opinion!

I say go with the DelSol.. My friend had one that was setup for racing, that little car was a blast to drive, you could pull the top off when it was nice and enjoy the weather too. This is what gives it an advantage IMO..

Thanks alot guys. Keep it coming. I'd like to keep this pole going for a while. At least until I buy the car. So then I can let you all know why I bought what and why. Also who if any of you swayed my ultimate decision. So, also I was hoping for your ideas for how to fix these projects up. It's because I don't know how but rather to see if that has anything to do with your reason for picking the car.

It's ALL about Dropping that Top !!! That is my ONLY reason for that choice, it doesn't need to be said that it can compete with the other two choices, that's a given, and it really need not be said to be better looking, That's flat out Obvisious. It has the Biggest advantage and that's Dropping that Top !

Besides, if this is your Play car, you need not tote 50 kids around to chucky cheese's in it *cough*Accord*couch* And If your going Hook it up, then please dont be one of those people who buys an economy car and spends $15k in stereo, engine swaps, and turbos *cough*HB*Cough*

Plus it's not as common as the other, it's nice to not go w/ the flow sometimes.

Sorry If I offended Anyone, I'm not downing HB's and Accords, Love what you got, I would just choose the DelSol in no time flat.

This is my dream, If Had the money I would do it. Take something that looks like a freikin grocery getter. Like my mom's car. Leave Stock Hubcaps just wider rims. Mod everything else such as Susp., Engine, and leave a quiet exhaust or if u know ur stuff really well you can weld on something from the old days. My dad was telling me about his old 1978 Pontiac GTO w\400cid. and 4spd hurst, He said that he welded dumps on his exhaust right after the headers, since you would be doing it to a four cylinder u would only have to weld one dump! The point is u make a car that seems like a normal innocent car, so when u pull up to the line and rev it up on somebody it sounds wussy then u drop the dump, giving u another 30 hp, or so. Another key to making this grocery getter stealthy to other cars is to leave body mods off. This car would give u an element of suprise. Just an idea, but if ur about looks bro just go for a Del Sol, just make sure u get a standard. I have a friend with one and I beat the shit out of his car in 1\4 mile he got a 18 HAHA and I got a 15sec time, poor guy, what a humiliation for him. If u like the element of suprise though definately go for a 4dr accord.

Hey Incubus you know we've talked about the Civic Del Sol and the Hatchback and as far as motors go you know I'd know how to make it fast. Just because it came with a crappy motor doesn't mean I'm going to work with a crappy motor. B20 with Type R head swap and turbo. I think that would motivate that little Del Sol right under your 15 sec timeslip. But you also know that I know how to do the same thing with the Accord. But not 4 door. It would have to be 2 door. I like the styling of the 2 door 94-97 Accord a little better. As for the Civic you know that I would make it into an Acura EL from Canada and then dump that B20 in there.

Um.....what's about time? I haven't posted on this POLL until now.....and where did the subject line of Incubus Masterbater come from?!?

Anyway, like I've said before, Civic Hatchback is a good way to go, it's light, quick, and can handle good but everyone has done it before.
Del Sol is a bit more rare. I'd go for the Del Sol personally just because the seats that come with the factory are pretty good and it's a light, quick little car in it's own right.
If you throw a larger displacement engine in it, with a turbo, you'll be smokin' people left and right with that thing.

I will, of course, always be loyal to integras.
If I were gonna go for a 2 seater though, I'd be looking at an Audi TT, S2K, or an MR2 Spyder but only 1 of those is a Honda, so I'll have to say of the three choices I'd go for the S2K

O!K! I don't know but I could have sworn Incubus that you already posted on this thread. As for the Subject line what are you talking about?

Anyways. I like Integras too but they are like the Hatchback; a little overdone. But that has never been too much of a concern for me. Oh and actually the Del Sol is a little heavier for its size. In fact I think Sport Compact Car even said that it almost tied an Integra for weight. I'm not sure on that one but I do remember them saying it was a heavy car for it's size. the Hatchback of course is the lightest. I know it's been done over and over. But I think I would still do the Acura EL front end. With Civic Type R hubs. Then I would put Acura CL Type S Rims on it. I would drop in the B20 with a Type R head and turbo. Either Acura EL interior or Civic Type R interior or a combo of both. And peraps a round of Acura EL pieces like emblems and such. There would be a few other things too but that's the gist of it.
If I did the Del Sol it would be the same motor and the seats would have to go. I'm not looking for an overnight budget project either. I want to take my time a build it up right no matter what way I went. Getting back to the Del Sol I would get the JDM one piece headlamps. JDM rear license cover and few other odds and ends. I don't think I would get the JDM motorized hard top. Adds too much weight. Not unless the car went to Martha or whoever will be my significant other by the time this car became a reality. And of course all my projects would include real HID lights. The Accord is a likely candidate too. Only because I don't see to many of these fixed up to be fast. So in some right it would be original to make it fast as hell. I'm thinking prelude motor swap with Turbo and JDM parts where ever possible. I still have my heart set on the ADVAN Siena generation II wheel though. Only because I think it looks race and not too many people in the US have it. Thats my opinion on the cars so far. I guess it mainly depends on what type of feel your going for. If your looking for all out, serious racing, I'd get the hatchback. If you want a potentially fast car with much style, elegance, and some luxury, go for the Accord.....and of course the middle ground would be the Del Sol....it's smaller, can be made to handle better than the Accord, can be made very quick, but it also has some style and that removeable top that I think is cool.

Personally I'd either go for the Del Sol or the hatchback, as I said.....and now that I thought about it some more, I'd probably go for the hatchback because I'm more into race than style, so long as the car looks decent "as is".....if I wanted that removable top feeling, I'd go for a convertible.

Well I had hoped that more people would give their opinion. After all I though most people felt pretty strongly about what they felt was the best platform and motor combo to create a bitchn' ride out of.
Well I believe the polls still on so I'd love to see some more input.
