street glow and the battery.??

i already have quite a bit of neon setup on the interior. its rigged to the cigarette lighter positive and ground wire. this includes 4 dash neons (each 3 inches long) and 4 under dash/under seat neons (2 12inch neons, and 2 6 inch neons) and 2 rear neons (2 6 inch ones) thats a total of 10 neons. i am going to be investing in the under car kit soon. my question really is how much can i set up and how would i go about rigging this? would it be ok to power that many neons on the car battery? or would i see a difinitive decrease in power? i certainly dont want any sort of overload. should i rig a fuse to everything or what? to give you an idea, the under car kit has 4 tubes (2 48 inch tubes, and 2 30 inch tubes) yep, its gonna glow alot!

Yeah, I'd definatly rig up a fuse in the current setup and deifnatly on any future setups. First you should figure out how much current each neon is drawing and go from there.

Also, I dont think running more than a few neons is a good idea spliced off of the cig lighter. I'd suggest running an independant power wire from your battery (10 ga would be more than enough, i think) and then split it off, maybe using a barrier strip or a fuse box. A fuse box would work nicely, cause that would be a good point to distribute your power to your neons without having a crapload of inline fuses. You should use at least one inline fuse near to your battery wire though.

ground all the neons indepentally to the chassis.

really this is just what I think, and it'll avoid problems in my opinion.

Throw on a splitter block, use 10 or higher G wire and use 8G for each light...AND use an inline fuse for each group...or a box, like blind suggested

yeah ground the underbodies to the chassis directly, but the small ones would probably be alright if you grouped them to one

you might want to invest in a larger alternator too if you continue to add stuff like that...or a 2nd battery

my neon kit consists of 2- 48 and 2- 30's and they only draw 1250mah or 1.25 amps for all four. its always a good ide to hook up a fuse cause if something shorts. you dont want to have a heater wire running through your car making a stink.
