Ebay Performance Auctions? And advice needed...

The air intakes on ebay I was wondering are they any good? and which ones on there should I get? They are only about 25-35 bucks...
How much power realistically?

The pulleys also are on ebay for the accesories are they any good? Which ones are the best?
How much power?

Ive also seen a couple cam gears on ebay and was wondering are there any ones to watch out for and what exactly do they do? do they just add timing or what?
How much power?

What is a vtec controller and can it help my car?? How much and where can you get one?
How much power?

Is there any thing else that can help my car have more power but not where you can hear the ehaust?? Would a free flowing cat help it and not make it louder? And what is that little bullet looking muffler inline with the exhaust? Is it just a resonator? Could I remove it and make it have more power and not be louder or where you can hear it?

Is there any other small mods to do to the engine to help it out?

Thanks Alot...

heh, i see that you got the accord. i don't know where you live at but the ebay intakes tend not to be emissions legal. also for the exhaust i can look some for you, but any aftermarket exhaust will be louder. i'd start with an aem short ram. just visit the site in my sig and look around a bit, then ask me about anything you need. i can make a very long post here but i can tell you from now that an exhaust won't help you a lot.

I got a knock-off intake from eBay (Cosmos Racing, to be exact) and I am pretty disappointed. Using the cold-air, I think I was actually robbed of power (over the stock airbox, minus the resonator) and I had to worry about hydrolock. So, I am running the short-ram now (the kit is 4 parts, the upper tube (from throttle body to side near battery), the lower tube(from the battery area down into the wheel-well), the connector, and the air filter). Now, I don't have a stone-sheild (it was destroyed some time ago), so if you do have one, you might not have quite the problem I did. So, I would go for the AEM Short-Ram if I were to do it over again.

As for the VTEC controller and cam gears, I don't have any personal experiences with either, so I can't really comment. Although, I have heard that Apexi makes the best VTEC controller (it won't necessarily give you any more power, just a larger power band) and AEM pullies are the way to go.
