it's a great quality turbo but there's no way of telling what condition it's in by looking at a pic.

with a rebuild (if it's not ball bearing (the ball bearing turbo's are difficult to get re-built) it'll be nasty.

did you pull it out of a car? does it have internal wastegate? i'm not too sure which turbo it is, but it seems like it came off a european design. turbo sizing is very important. it's great that you are posting this picture. can you post another pic with the rest of what i'm seeing on the IH......... something....

This is the only other picture i have. The IHI is IHI Turbo. Besides that lexus symbols on the intake side. On the middle piece that joins the two exhaust/intake numbers read R46D. On the exhaust piece R1 6C 52E 12-R 3...

Any ideas???

It's an IHI RHB5 it cam on ford probe turbo's and isuzu impulse turbos. and a bunch of other cars. it's faster spooling than most. it produces 7-12 psi stock (varies from car to car.) it has an internal wastegate which can be re-sprung or the waste gate can be blocked to produce upto 20 psi (maybe) but this will beat up the turbo.
Also it's water cooled which is great for reliability and longevity. If it does have the ball bearings it's hard or impossible to get it rebuit. but they are usually in good shape and last long.
Just search on google for ihi rhb5 and you'll come across some helpful things (not many though)

Hope that helps (I'm actually waiting on delivery for mine (used on ebay for 120 delivered.) no downpipe or exhaust end manifold though)
