nah its an okay size i guess...some people just dont want 12's and 15's in their trunk taking up all that space...i guess if u get a good 8 inch sub and a good amp it will be produce some pretty good bass...that JL Audio 8 inch sub should be nice..

Just about everybody makes an 8" sub.

It's all about the enclosure.

The trick with having some good low end extention with 2 eights or one 10" is in sealed enclosure you need some air space. Don't cramp the speakers in the smallest box they can fit in, you need some Cubic feet in there for them to get some low end extention. Cause with smaller boxes tend to push the Frequencey roll off higher, with tends to make kick drums snappy, yet the low end will suffer with a reduced output.

No my friend for 2 8" subs I would go for 0.75 Cubic Feet for each 8" or a 1.25 Cubic foot Box for a 10", if you want a smaller box look to go with a ported box then. Granted these size boxes are not exactly a one size fits all yet most subs will perform well in these dimentions.

MTX makes a special box that comes pre loaded with a pretty good sub, it's one 10. My friend bought one, we got it empty and put a Infinity Perfect 10 in it, and it slammed. We had to customize it to make it fit. But as is, the MTX loaded boxes are pretty nice. It's a box, amp, and sub all in one hook up. I get them REALLY cheap.
