input shaft

ok me and my brother are both swaping our cars to manual , besides that we both bought 2 manual trannys, and the input shaft on my brothers tranny wiggles like a mofo, and mine does not at all, is that really bad or should he get it rebuilt, we talked to this tranny guy and he said that its not worth rebuilding untill you at least drive with it, what do you think

there should be minimal play in the input shaft

Shouldnt wiggle much, if at all. I would definately return it to where you got it from. No, its not worth rebuilding.

we'll summer is coming to an end and we need to get these projects rolling so returing a tranny he got really cheap on ebay and trying to find a new one, I dont think is gonna happen, this guy will do a really cheap rebuild if it comes down to it and we'll just pull the tranny again

pop it open and look inside, or have the tranny guy do it, its not hard. the problem might be obvious.

^Yep. The hardest part is removing the circlip with snap ring pliers
