Major Oil leak please help!

My car is leaking oil like crazy. I had a guy look at my car and I was told that my front seal is probably gone bad and that's why the oil is leaking out. Do people's seals just go bad and leak oil all over the place? How much does a new front seal cost to replace? Could this have been anything caused by the shop that changes my oil?I just had an oil change about 2 weeks ago. Also a couple of days before I noticed the leak, I was rearended by a pickup. Could this accident possibly have anything to with the leak. Please let me know what you guys think.
