So after my brake swap...

...I have super-soft pedal and its bugging me since I bled them at least 4 times really well.
Im thinking that its just an air bubble the size of a kiwi but thought Id make a post about it anyway.

So after I fix this I'll have front and rear 'teg brakes and itr booster/mc.

I should stop quite nicely by monday, eh?

The teg brake's piston is noticeably larger than the ex/si's, by the way. This was by far the easiest upgrade Ive ever done (minus the air thats still in there being stupid). Bolted right up cleanly, quickly. A+

(If anyone wants the ex/si calipers, ok aem pads and powerslut rotors (package) let me know....cheap cheap cheap - they look like they were found at the bottom of lake michigan but still function great)

Would it make a difference? I mean a lot of integras have abs so that shouldnt matter. ...shouldnt

Well I went shopping today for some more dot4 fluid since I ran out of the blue stuff......no one had any. Crap... So I have to wait for one of the stores to do a special order for me (they can order ate for no extra charge) and will have to wait until wed/thursday.
SO...Im stationary for awhile. I really want to seat those pads and test these things out!

bro, post pics. I had an opportunity to use ITR MC/BB on my GSR but it didnt fall through. Mine is just gonna be a straight MC/BB swap from another 96 GSR. My shit if fucked pretty bad. I wanted to upgrade my brake systems, but now I just want it working again.....

From the outside the integra calipers look identical to the ex/si ones. I was a little worried until I compared piston size. Integra pads are also longer - how I cant figure out since the bracket is identical.

I know a good lot of gsr mc/bb setups are also 1" and if not theyre 15/16ths so its not that much of an upgrade. Now if you wanna go w/ 1" over 13/16ths or 7/8ths that is a good bit larger and worth it for civics.

My buddy did a Type-R brake conversion on his '98 hatch and loves them.

I thought about that but I didnt want to swap entire knuckles for 5lug or have to get redrilled rotors each time...what a hassle
plus the spacing issue...work.

Yeah he's got the 5 lug conversion. I can't remeber what year the're from but he got them from a japanese auto wreckers. I'll get him to e-mail me a pic of them.

Not really... It appears to be the booster since the MC didnt have any signs of leak or major wear. I just received the other assembly today. Gonna install it later.. or maybe tomorrow. If not, I'll do it later after I pull the motor out.. Yup, it's time for that rebuild...

Well my fluid will arrive tomorrow so I can rebleed these suckers and get to seating. Im excited!

Well I rebled today and theyre still kinda soft.
I think what the problem is, is that I have been driving around so much w/ the itr setup and small ex/si fronts that I am used to such a firm pedal. These being larger they make the pedal softer. I did drive it around and was stopping alright...but just ok. Im thinking that after the brace it will become firmer again and I'll be happier.
I bled 1liter of brake fluid...thats an entire can of ate

could be a slow leak in the master... hold your foot on the pedal when the car is off... if it sinks at all (even under REALLY HARD pressure) then there's either a leak somewhere or the master is leaking internally...

I did just the rear disk swap (kept ex calipers up front) was night and day... and the pedal was more firm... there's a point now in my pedal where if I push hard enough to reach it just locks up all 4 wheels... where as before I'd have to induce enough nose dive to the front to get just the fronts to lock up...

Much more balance in the 4 wheel disk IMO... I'm gunna be doing the front SH lude/ITR caliper conversion soon enough... I'm just poor and lazy right now...

I'm gunna try to get away with doing it for all but free... just new pads and the spacers needed... I'm gunna try to use the lude rotors and calipers I have w/o rebuilding them... I just hope there's enough meat on the rotors to cut.

Yeah I tried that first time around. The pedal is firm and stays put when the car is off - pressure is held.
Its when I reset the booster that I get dissapointed.

how did you adjust the booster... mine needed to be adjusted to all hell before it gave a good pedal...

I just adjusted it till it triggered the brake light switch at a stop then backed it off a little...

pedal was sick after that.

didnt adjust the booster. By reset I mean the valve I guess - just start the car.

Sorry I haven't had much time to be checking up on my posts lately...

To adjust the booster you simply turn the nut around the shaft that attaches to the brake pedal... You'll see it draw in the pedal as you tighten it and push it away when you loosen it...

I'm not sure how you're "supposed" to adjust it other than with a factory tool and the master uninstalled... I just fiddled with mine till it felt right..

My pedal sucked butt when I first installed it and even after I installed a new master... then after I adjusted that nut and tested it out a couple times it was a million times better...

The easiest way to do it is to draw the pedal in towards the booster/firewall untill it triggers the brake light switch... then back it off a little bit..

That's what I did... I have NO idea if that's correct or not but it worked for me and I've had no problems since.

Ive been doing a LOT of driving lately and Ive gotten used to the feel a bit more. Its still crap-load softer than w/ the smaller calipers, but the stopping power is definately better. It just doesnt feel like it.
