trouble finding simple turbos

Yea im trying to find some easy turbo setups that dont need to be tuned and dont require lots of maintenance. My cars a daily driver so something that will last also, im not looking for like a huge hp gain from it so it dosent haveto be insane just not some cheaply made crap.

any turbo u put on an engine needs to be tuned properly, and requires more maintenance than a NA engine. There is no such thing as a no-maintenace turbo. If u really cant be bothered with the extra work of a turbo, then I would reccomend to stay naturally aspirated.

i do agree with them. you cant just slap a turbo on a car like an intake.

but the easy to install i guess is the Greddy. which is good for 5psi on a stock motor.

the only way you will find a "trouble free turbod car" is if you buy it from a dealer like that and dont void the wrranty

Well I was reading in some magazine I think it was the greddy kit and they were saying like you just bolt it on and theres no need to tune it or something.

Most manufacturer will say that. But seriously, tune that shit especially if you want your car to last longer. After 4 years of boosting my Y8 (3 years on 10 psi), the headgasket finally gave up. I put the new one in tho. Feels like the car is brand new again....

you could just get a supercharger, which requires a little less tuning, or just go with nitrous. Or just get a new car

yeah...according to one of the newer members he's at 198whp on his sohc jrsc'd civic.

Even though sc is less maint you still need to properly tune it. And part of the reason its less work is because its less boost and less power.
= less strain on the engine.
Get it tuned nonetheless and pay attention to it if you want your engine to last.

some people even say that the JR supercharger is just as much maintenace if not more than a turbo. Remember the supercharger belt needs to be changed at constant intervals, and valvelashes still have to be done more regularly, as well as spark plugs. Not to mention JRSC's suck for straight line performance! If u only want it for throttle response and "fun" driving then get one. Just dont expect to beat any turbo honda, or any naturally aspirated ones that are running anything more than bolt ons.

Hmm...yea I think now if I get $2,000+ plus I will instead just do a full swap, since I have 78k miles on mine already (I know its not that much) Then consider sc or turbo down the road. So for now its just na mods for me, what would you guys do after the usual intake, catback, headers?

well if you wanna buy a cheap turbocharger that'll work, go to your nearest junkyard. They should have turbos laying around from broken eclipeses and talons or any other turboed cars.

if u do the junkyard runs and wamt a mitubishi turbo get the turbos off of 1st gen DSM's (90-95 I think those are the years). They have T28 turbos. The second gen's have T25 turbos which suck a$$.
