the price is wrong bitch

Hey guys i got an ass load of qurstions.

Talked to a friend who knows someone who works at this shop in worcester... So i talked to this shop person on the phone to try to get some prices....

s100b=$450, eh not bad, but i found a s200b on there and i'm thinking of bidding. Basically that plugs into the ecu rather than being installed inside of it right?

downpipe=160, go fuck yourself, i could make one

hondata dyno tuning=$700, go fuck yourself squared. I almost shit myself when he said that, and i asked him again the price because i couldn't believe it. Is this the normal price for a shop to charge for a hondata dyno tuning session? fucking christ, i got my turbo, intercooler, turbo timer, and all of my gauges for less than that.

He also wanted to quote me on some rediculous price for a socketed p28 ecu and harness. Which i could just as easily hit up Egay or the good ol junkyard (and socket myself or have sent out).

so basically i need to know, how much you guys pay for dyno tuning and should i bid on the hondata s200b. Otherwise i'm just going to go the apexi vafc and missing link route for now...

and then come spring, hondata

I paid $495 for my Hondata S200b but i've seen S100b on H-T going for $275-300 and S200b for $300-350....

If the DP is 3 inch then $160 is not bad... but I rather make my own too

Hondata tuning for $700 is way too much. I hope that shit is on a dyno. My tuner charged me $225 for almost 3 hrs of dyno tuning and about 30 pulls.... but that's a hook-up.

Socketing a P28 should only run you about $75. That is how much it is locally around here.

yeah i could have it sent out to hondata for 65 to be socketed.

the price did include dyno tuning and he said it was a flat rate (fuckin hope so). I looked into Podium Performance down in southern CT, and it says that when they send you a hondata system that it comes with a base map that will run your car and 95% of the time you don't need to go for further tuning. So i'm going to give them a call tomorrow.

oh and i had them quote me for a 2.5 inch stainless steel DP...

rat bastards.

looks like i'm going to have to do some junkyard shopping as well....

$700 for dyno tuning?! Like you said, it should come with a base map and that'll give a ballpark of where you need to be. Like hell I'd pay $700 for a few little tweaks. Personally I always just pay for the dyno time and do the tuning myself. Then again, like Pat, I've got a hookup.

I disagree with base map not requiring further tuning. Each car is different. I've seen base map blowing up motors and even not make the car start up at all. Base map Hondata is based solely on stock ignition, motor, turbo size, and boost level. Those items oviously vary per car. Use the base map to get your car to the dyno. My local shop subtracts the price of the base map towards the final dyno tuning....

well i think i'm fucked. I can't find a place around that will tune hondata for a reasonable price, and this project is taking way longer than i expected....

did a search on the net, and found a tuner shop in CT that's about 45min away from me, seem very knoweledgable and reputable.

so i'm considering just going the way of s/vafc + DSM injectors and doing the map "hack" and hell if they can give me a decent price i'll see if they can fab up a DP and IC piping for me and install it....

so i've got a couple phone calls to make
