? about AEM Cold Air Intake install

I'm waiting on an AEM Cold Air Intake and I plan on having it professionally installed because I'm not very mechanically inclined. My vehicle is a 92 Prelude S and I was wondering if anyone had some tips with the installation. I've been reading up on the AEM intakes and some users have mentioned removing the bumper......removing a wheel, etcetera. Supposedly, the instructions are not very detail so that is one concern of mine.

I plan on getting it installed at the local Honda dealer but I have a feeling that the mechanics there haven't done many Cold Air Intake installs and I'd prefer to have someone who's experienced with this type of install.

It would be super nice if you all could make a few suggestions regarding the install so I could pass the tips onto the mechanic.

Thank you for your help in advance.

Wait!
Don't pay someone $50+ to install an intake. You can easily do it yourself, even if you're not mechanically inclined. It is extremely straightforward, and you won't have to remove your bumper (at least I didn't), and you don't have to remove the wheel, but it might make it easier. Just take out the stock system (easy to do, just look at it and unbolt it), and stick the new intake in...

If you have any trouble during the install, just ask here. It should maybe take you 30-45 min since you haven't done it before.

for me half the fun of my car is installing stuff. its honestly very very simple. one of the easyest installs. it invovles very little mechanical work. you remove the old intake, airbox and resonator then replace it with the AEM one. i'd say go for it for yourself. if you want to i'll put up lenghty instructions. post here or, i'll be willing to answer any more questions.

Thank you both for the suggestions......I will try to install the intake myself and will most definitely ask for help on this board if needed.

doesn't he need to make a larger hole for the intake to go thru the inner fender ? on my accord i have 2 small holes, and none of them seem to be big enough for the intake to fit

I'm not sure if you need to or not in a 92 prelude. I know only the 4th gen accords had to...

yes you do need to widen the hole. it isnt hard at all and it shouldnt scare you off from doing it yourself.

Yeah I have one, but on your car, you'll need to widen the hole a little. No big deal, I still wouldn't hesitate to get one. Everything else is totally straightforward.
