re-did my headlights today..

today i spent about 3 hours taking my cleared headlights and painting the chrome housing black. im very pleased with the DIY JDM turnout...

nicely done! what kind of "glue" did you use to seal the headlight cover with the headlight housing?

i use silicone sealant from advanced auto, it's always fun. I've done like 4 sets of headlights so it's kind of monotonous.

question for u can this be a day job bc i want to take out the amber in my stock headlights but i dont have an extra set nemore so is it easy or is it possible to get it done in one day???

What color do you guy think the 99-00 civic type-r headlights are. I think there more of a chrome black or chrome gunmetal??

no you really cant do it in one day unless you dont care about the "wet" silicone getting on your ride...it takes a day to dry

the jdm ones are gunmetal i believe.

CTR did you use Duplicolor for the paint?

hahaha, i do headlights in 2-3 hours and them we slap em back on the car lol. air dry that shit hahaha. i used some black furnature paint i found in the garage. hasnt melted so im happy. the true CTR headlights are gunmetal with a smoked lense.

well for the 6th gens...its a peice of plastic that is screwed on...2 pieces...i dont know about the others, but im sure its similar

is it possible to just use a "silver reflective sticker" over the amber reflector? if so, where can i get some?

you COULD if you so inclined. the ambler reflector is not smooth which would make sticking a sticker on quite difficult. the surface under the amber reflector is chrome anyway, so a silver sticker would have the same effect and just simply removing the amber reflector.
