I can't believe they actually went through with the discontinuation. I honestly figured they were just using it as some sort of gimmick to sell a huge amount in a small amount of time.
There was some other vehicle that did that...some kind of truck I think...can't remember which though. Did you see how much the very last camaro ever made went for? I never saw the final selling price, but I bet it was UP THERE. |

Yeah, Im kinda surprised they actually did stop making them also. What do they have now besides the Corvette? Not everyone can afford one of those.
 They sissyfied the Impala Theres nothing "sports car like" besides the rather expensive Corvette. That just doesnt make sense to me. No camaro, trans am, Firebird.. hmm.. guess Ill just have to settle for a Cavalier.

No, the last FBody came off the production line at the end of August. GM says it wasn't selling, but the inside track that I've heard is that the new Federal crash requirements for 2003 would have required redesigning the windshield/upper cockpit area.

I'm...not so positive. The Impala, Monte Carlo and Malibu were all full-size, haul-ass musclecars, and they all came back as neutered anemic 6cyl front drivers. GM may launch a new Camaro, with a new design and new powerplants, but I think the straight-line only approach of the FBody platform is dead, evolved out of existence by the 'do everything well, excel at nothing' approach of Mustang, S2000 and Eclipse.
Or, I'm desperately trying to persuade me to go buy an M3.  Max |

i'm just saying not all camaros are slow.....you never know what your up agaisnt, yeah thos v6 3800's are slow as balls, but some f-bodies, will suprise you, my car looks pretty stock, auctally, unless you look inside, or under the hood, or at the 295 rear tires, you'd think its a normal car, but its alittle bit faster, nice kill tho!

stock v6 Birds/camaros have 135HP.. not very much, in fact its exactly the same HP as my honda accord. the accord is slightly faster than my bird because of weight ratio. also thirdgen camaros are older cars so they also loose horsepower as they rack up the miles on the engine

Why is everyone so surprised they stopped making the Camaro? It's actually a smart move on GM's part. They are gonna get everyone to miss it and come back out with it again in 04-05. Although, when it comes back out, it will be more of the older design. It will be more boxy like the old ones but not sure on power or engines for it yet. My cousin works for GM.
