newbie car question

ok first things first, i have a remote keyless entry already installed. How hard would it be to remove it and put in another one? (i cant find the remote for it anywhere and noone can identify it) The only real technical thing i have done with cars is put in a cd player and put in new parking and turnsignal lights.
