shaving my car

does anyone ever shave like door handles or the trunk and emblem of their cars by yourself? I wanna shave sum of the stuffz myself so I can save some money. I saw some metal sheet at pep boys and stuffz and i was wondering can I used this stuffz to shave my car or do i need something else to do it. Please help, need step by step???? thank you guyz
