Need Some Advice

Here's my situation. I currently drive a '98 civic dx coupe. It has about 160,000kms on it. It's been lowered has rims short shifter exhaust and intake and front and rear lips. The car is in great shape and has no problems, other than I get killed on insurence with it. I'm seriously thinking about buying my friends car. It's a '96 cx hatchback with type-r five bolt conversion and rims stainless brake lines lowered, front and rear lips, integra front and read seats. For a motor it has a first gen b16 with a '99 gsr tranny and type -r flywheel and cluch. The car is in excellent shape and the motor has about 40,000 on it and is very clean and runs very strong. He's asking $8500 for it. What do you guys think, is it worth it. I could probably get 8 for mine and hopefully get a break on my insurance. I've always loved hatchbacks and the only reason I got a coupe was because at the time I couldn't find a hatch with a/c, which was dumb on my part because I hardly use my a/c. Any advice you guys have would be greatly appreciated. Thanx guys.

This is what me car looks like.
