D series Q?

O.k. please do not turn this into d vs. anyseries just have a quick Q? and I read about 28 pages of that...

I have 2003 ex D17A2, A local ricer shop says the oil pumps are crappy in these, He really didnt get techy on me but they are leet so I trust them, If I decide to turbo mine is there a better pump that will fit?
do I have to worry...

I allready plan to change the the head gasket to greddys, and other internals that arent to costly but, any help from you guys would greatly appreciated
