Very true, I would recommend doing the head right away, it will add better air flow, check out www.exospeed.com , they are doing a special now for D heads:

resurface, 3 way valve job, turbo cam, port/polish, new valve seats $950.00 or go all out and get the valves, springs, retainers for about $1300.00. But the head does add for your turbo set-up it isnt just a piece of scrap sitting on top of your block.
