What is a carrier bearing. What does it do.

umm, I'm sitting here looking at my Helms manual and it lists everything in the tranny and there's no mention of a carrier bearing. Alot of other bearings but no carrier bearing.

I believe it is another way of saying through-out bearing.
kinda like posi->lsd
