Alright so I am still trying to by the bike from the guy in France......he hates escrow for some reason and wants to do this lol:

I understand your concern and this is what i have in mind:You send the money in UK on what name and adress you want even your own name.You give the details to check if the transfer was made.If it´s ok i will start shipping right away.When you will receive a trucking number from FedEx and when you are sure that the bike is in your way and is safe you change the transfer from UK to France on my name and adress.If is not a secure way for you i think that i am crazy.Now is a litlle risky for me.So let me know if you want in this way because i don´t want to waist more time with this bike

What it means is you better buy a bike in the states. It isnt easy to put the funds in pounds and then transfer to francs. I would be very careful with this. It doesn't seem right at all.

...weird. Um a couple possibilities I can think of. One being that he wants the money in UK currency so he can transfer that to euros. reason for that is he may stand to make a few extra bucks from better exchange rates possibly. And then to send the UK money (not sure what that is called) to him with info on where you want the bike shipped. Or it sounds like he could want the title changed from a french title to a UK title for some reason and then to change the transfer from UK to France when you get the bike. I can't imagine why. The letter is really hard to understand. Like Vegasguy said, be very careful with this. Ask for clarity and try not to budge until you get the info you are satisfied with.

duh uk currency is pounds. you can really tell I'm a well cultured american

Alright thanks guys......the deal is so sweet too....i think it actually is to good to be true. He keeps giving BS reasons why he can't use escrow. I have read way to much about people getting scammed....guess im waiting for another bike

like rr said in the other thread: make sure you know what you buy. actually i'd never buy something used without first test driving it.

He is basically saying send the money, he'll give you a tracking number from FedEx and then the bike will be yours.

You better watch it, there are several bike scams out there on ebay. Check some of the bike forums if you dont believe me.
